Location of the Darasun Project
The Darasun mine is situated in the Chita Region of Eastern Russia. The region has long held a strategic geopolitical position at the border with Mongolia and China The Darasun project is situated about 260 km north of the city of Chita

History of the Darasun Project
Mining activities have taken place at Darasun for centuries which led to the discovery of source vein deposit in the late 1800s. The first shafts were sunk in 1905 and were deepened in 1927. Darasun produced about 3 million oz of gold between 1927 and 2000, when it ceased mining activities due to financial constraints.
