|
The Montana Tunnels Deposit is hosted in the central portion of the Montana Tunnels Diatreme which is the throat of a now cooled and extinct volcano approximately 30 million years old. The mineralized zone, called the Core Zone, consists of a matrix of tuffaceous quartz latite, which contains subangular to rounded fragments of earlier volcanic rock into which the diatreme was implaced.
