THOMPSON CREEK ANNOUNCES ELECTION OF CAROL T. BANDUCCI
TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Toronto, ON - MAY 10, 2010 - TSX: TCM / NYSE: TC - Thompson Creek Metals Company Inc. (�Company�), one of the world�s largest publicly traded, pure molybdenum producers, today announced that Carol T. Banducci was elected at the Company�s Annual Meeting of Shareholders on May 6, 2010 to the Board of Directors along with continuing directors Chairman Kevin Loughrey, Lead Director Timothy J. Haddon, Denis C. Arsenault, James L. Freer, James P. Geyer and Thomas J. O�Neil.

Ms Banducci has more than 20 years of financial management and strategic leadership experience with leading global companies. She was appointed Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of IAMGOLD Corporation, mid-tier gold mining company, in July 2007 and was promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in July 2009. From November 2005 through June 2007, Ms. Banducci was Vice President, Financial Operations and a director (from 2006 to 2007) of Royal Group Technologies, where she led comprehensive integration, restructuring and cost improvement initiatives. Ms. Banducci is a director of Euro Ressources SA, a French company focused on precious metal royalties. She was engaged as a consultant from 2004 through to October 2005, where she used her extens ive financial experience and advised companies on their restructuring needs. Prior to 2004, Ms. Banducci was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Canadian General-Tower Limited, and held other senior level finance positions with the world�s leading suppliers of explosives and blasting technology, including Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Orica Explosives North America; Vice President, Finance and Information Technology and Chief Financial Officer of ICI Explosives Canada & Latin America; International Controller of ICI International Explosives; and Treasurer of ICI Canada Inc. Ms. Banducci has extensive experience in strategic planning, financial reporting, treasury, tax, mergers and acquisitions, pension fund asset management, insurance and information technology. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto.
