VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) _ First Quantum Minerals Ltd. (FQVLF) on Wednesday reported second-quarter net income of $141 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the Vancouver, British Columbia-based company said it had profit of 18 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to 5 cents per share.
The metal and minerals mining company posted revenue of $659 million in the period.
First Quantum Minerals shares have more than doubled since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $7.83, a fall of 13 percent in the last 12 months.
