Debasing the US nickel to less "costly" alloys will be the last of the US coinage to be debased by Congress. The US nickel as it stands today has been unchanged since first minted in 1866. How quickly we'll get to 100% circulating paper fiat is the unknown.
The history of US coinage debasement is clear testimony that the congress has never been serious about a balanced budget in this past century. And, today's congress is no different, and even more self-serving.

2001 came to a close the world has witnessed the last full year of low
silver prices. Thanks to the general media blackout of what can
only be reasonably called conspiracies in silver and gold markets, the
public at large has absolutely no inkling of the approaching catastrophe.
