What makes gold good money |
People say that gold is rare this is why it makes good money. To make an analogy to the porridge in Goldilocks, the temperature could not be too cold or too hot. If gold were too common, or too rare, it would not work as money. Think of sand, which is too common, or blue diamonds which are too rare (and diamonds would not work as money anyway.
Rather than focusing on its rarity, let’s look at extracting it. It has generally held true that the cost to mine an ounce of gold was around one ounce ofSaturday, January 9, 2021 |

The 5 Largest Gold Nuggets that Still Exist |
Throughout gold rush and gold mining history, the discovery of a large gold nugget is a phenomenon which always causes excitement throughout a mining community as well as capturing the wider public's imagination. It has probably something to do with so much gold being found at the same time, often with relative ease.
Gold nuggets can be found in alluvial deposits (sediments formed by water movement) or in other placer deposits (formed by other movement), but gold nuggets can also be found in or Tuesday, December 15, 2020 |

Is This The Beginning Of The Next Silver Rush |
This report is a PAID ADVERTISEMENT from Oilprice.com
Far below the Nevada desert, past ancient mine shafts and rock-strewn caverns, there could be a fortune waiting to be made by one small company.
A fortune in silver.
A mine that inspired the silver rush in the 1880s, that was tapped once more in the 1960s, could again prove a boon to miners using the latest technologies to tap unexplored and unexploited mineral deposits.
It could prove to be a great re-discovery in the history of silver mininMonday, November 30, 2020 |

El Petro: Desperate Times Call For Desperate Measures |
Desperate times call for desperate measures. When government “officials” become desperate and run out of other peoples wealth, well, the desperation becomes palatable. This is exactly what is happening in Venezuelan.
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, a socialist maniac, has driven the country into the ground with promises that could never be kept. Then the Venezuelan government committed the ultimate sin and began discussing gold and demanding their gold be returned, which it was. When a counSunday, January 6, 2019 |

South African Gold-Mining Companies Pay High Price to Keep Digging

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa -- South African gold miners have literally dug themselves into a hole, with the world's deepest mines threatening the safety of workers and the companies' ability to make money.
Powered for decades by the cheap labor of apartheid, the country's deepest gold mines plunge almost 12,000 feet below the earth's surfSunday, October 7, 2018 |

2018 Reversal Dates for Gold, Silver and Gold Stocks |
Friday’s session in the precious metals sector was very exciting, but quite a few investors will want to agree to that, because the volatility wasn’t really big. But the dam is broken, and we saw several new cracks pointing to an incoming breakdown. It’s not the time to look away from all the signs – it’s time to take advantage of them.
In addition to showing you how we plan to proceed with the above, we’ll discuss something much bigger – the dates at which gold, silver and gold miners are likelTuesday, March 20, 2018 |

Gold Miners’ Q4’17 Fundamentals |
The
gold miners’ stocks remain deeply out of favor, trading at prices
seen when gold was half or even a quarter of current levels. So
many traders assume this small contrarian sector must be really
struggling fundamentally. But nothing could be farther from the
truth! The major gold miners’ recently-released Q4’17 results prove
they are thriving. Their languishing stock prices are the result of
irrational herd sentiment.

Upcoming Turnaround in Gold |
More than two weeks ago, we described the very specific and very important pattern in the gold market, one of short- and medium-term importance. We wrote that the triangle apex pattern based on the intraday highs, pointed to a major reversal in the first half of March. The first half of March ends this week, so the key question is if the pattern was invalidated or are we about to see a major reversal in the price of gold.
In our view, the latter outcome is highly likely as it is confirmed also bThursday, March 15, 2018 |

Bank Stocks Lead Gold Stocks Higher |
As the world transitions from deflation to inflation, investors need to engage in serious sector rotation or they risk being left behind.
Income growth in China/India, US government tax cuts, central bank rate hikes, and quantitative tightening are the main fundamental forces of this transition.
The paint is barely dry on Trump’s first tranche of tax cuts, and he’s already talking about round two!
Trump is a businessman and a realist, and that means he knows the US government has no hope ofWednesday, March 14, 2018 |

Record Low Volatility in Precious Metals and What it Means |
The past 18 months have been difficult for precious metals investors. If you had known Donald Trump would be elected and the US Dollar would soon begin a nearly 15% decline, you would have expected Gold to blow past its 2016 high. You would have been shocked to see the gold miners and junior gold stocks trading lower. Gold has fared okay but the gold stocks and Silver have lagged. As US equities have continued to power higher, precious metals have struggled to perform while volatility in the spaTuesday, March 13, 2018 |

Silver Does it Again! Severe Consequences. |
In the free analysis that we posted last Monday, we warned that Friday’s session was likely to be volatile and tricky. This seems to have indeed been the case for silver. The white metal declined early in the day only to rally almost 40 cents from the initial low. In our previous alert, we discussed the possibility of silver topping at about $16.65 and this level was reached. Is silver about to take a dive just like it did in late November 2017?
In short, yes. That seems very likely, especially Tuesday, March 13, 2018 |

Gold Price in March 2018 |
Silver soared, so it's bullish, right? Wrong. It’s been only a couple of days since Thursday, when we closed our short positions and we have already seen a sizable rally in gold and silver. In fact, yesterday’s upswing was so significant that both precious metals already moved to the target areas that we featured on Monday, even though they were “scheduled” to move there at the end of the week. Is the top already in? Silver’s short-term outperformance definitely seems to suggest that it’s either Sunday, March 11, 2018 |

Cheap Gold Stocks Basing |
The
small contrarian gold-mining sector remains deeply out of favor,
universally ignored. Thus the gold stocks are largely drifting
listlessly, totally devoid of excitement. But that’s the best time
to buy low, when few others care. The gold stocks continue to form
strong technical bases, paving the way for massive mean-reversion
uplegs. And they remain exceedingly cheap relative to gold prices,
which drive their profits.
