Airborne Geophysics Indicate Potential to Expand Known Minerlized
Zones at Amer Lake
======================================================================
Vancouver, October 18, 2007 - Uranium North Resources Corp. (UNR - TSX
Venture) announces that preliminary airborne geophysical data from the
Amer Lake uranium deposit (*historic 6.7 million lb U3O8 - not NI
43-101 compliant) and surrounding property, located in Nunavut,
indicates the potential to expand the known mineralized zones and
identifies several new prospective areas for further prospecting and
drill testing.
"Upon review of this new airborne data, it is very apparent previous
explorers in the region did not have access to this quality and extent
of data," says Mark Kolebaba, President of Uranium North. ,em>"I
believe this geophysical data has already provided us with an advantage
in targeting additional prospects."
Geophysical survey highlights include:
.. Central Region - A 5 x 7.5 km zone of uranium anomalies over the
known Main Zone deposit indicates potential to expand the extent of the
mineralization at the Main Zone deposit and Faucon prospect. In
addition, the data in this zone identifies several new areas for
prospecting and possible drill testing. Of particular interest, is the
possible bedrock source targets for historic boulders with values in
the magnitude of 1.9, 1.8, 5.4 and 8.8% U3O8, and an understanding of
the stratigraphic/structural setting. Sample results for the area are
pending.
.. Eastern Region - Coincident airborne magnetic and uranium anomalies
overlying the Split Lake and Horned Lake uranium occurrences yielding
<0.1 to 5.0% U3O8 suggests a stratigraphically controlled bedrock
source that may extend for approximately 8 km. Both Split Lake and
Horned Lake prospects are candidates for drill testing. Sample results
from the area are pending.
.. Western Region - A 2.5 x 5 km zone of uranium anomalies appearing
similar to the Central zone exists on the western part of the property.
Two clusters of uranium enriched boulders (0.14 to 1.7% U3O8) occur
within the geophysically anomalous area, along with a bedrock grab
sample which assayed 0.36% U3O8 along the southern margin of the zone.
This area has seen relatively little historic work and is concluded to
be a very high priority target area based on the recent geophysical
results.
.. Other prospects - Numerous other airborne uranium anomalies across
the property have been identified within the preliminary data. Due to
the variability of overburden cover and abundance of lakes that could
mask a uranium signal, additional prospecting and detailed surveys are
planned.
This preliminary review of airborne geophysics is based on unprocessed
radiometric data. Upon receipt of final processed data and soil/rock
sample results for the property, definitive detailed targeting will
begin.
Terraquest Limited completed approximately 3000 line kilometres of
fixed-wing magnetic and radiometric geophysical survey in late August,
at a line spacing of 200 metres and aircraft ground clearance of 70
metres.
With 10% or less of outcrop exposure on the Amer Lake property, the
airborne geophysical survey data will be an important targeting tool.
Absolute uranium values are subject to change with final data.
Jeremy S. Brett., M.Sc., P.Geo., of MPH Consulting Limited, is Uranium
North's qualified person responsible for the design of the geophysical
survey and review of the geophysical data.
*This is not a resource estimate and should not be relied upon as
insufficient exploration has been carried out to delineate a mineral
resource and it is uncertain if further exploration will result in the
target being delineated as a mineral resource.
