Approval of Amendment to Environmental Authority

Aditya Birla Minerals Limited ("ABY" or "The Company") advises that its wholly owned subsidiary Birla Mt Gordon Pty Ltd (BMG) has received notification from the Department of Environment and Heritage Protection (DEHP) that its application to amend the environmental authority (EA) has been approved.
Following the initial approval of the application, the DEHP received two objections to the application and subsequently referred the application to the Land Court of Queensland. The Land Court facilitated a mediation process the outcomes of which resulted in revisions to the application being agreed to by all parties and the Land Court proceedings being discontinued.
The approved EA inter alia, has modified the Mandatory Reporting level of water in the
Esperanza Pit from 184RL to 217.5RL, which is a good outcome.
