SASKATOON, Saskatchewan (AP) _ Cameco Corp. (CCJ) on Friday reported a loss of $3.1 million in its third quarter.
The Saskatoon, Saskatchewan-based company said it had a loss of 1 cent per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 15 cents per share.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 24 cents per share.
The uranium producer posted revenue of $496.2 million in the period.
Cameco shares have declined 14 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Friday, shares hit $14.17, a drop of 16 percent in the last 12 months.
