SEBREE, KY - (March 25, 2014) - Century Aluminum Company (NASDAQ: CENX) is pleased to announce the passage of a Kentucky General Assembly resolution recognizing the vital contributions of Kentucky's aluminum industry to the state's economy by distinguishing it as a "signature industry". The Company commends the Kentucky General Assembly for the unanimous bi-partisan passage and support of Senate Concurrent Resolution (SCR) 97, sponsored by Senator Joe Bowen of Owensboro.
"On behalf of nearly 1300 employees in Kentucky, we are very pleased the Kentucky General Assembly and Governor Beshear recognize the important role of aluminum production in Kentucky by passing this resolution and signing it into law," remarked Century Aluminum President and CEO Mike Bless.
