Banro Comments on Correspondence Received from the DRC Minister of Mines
TORONTO, Feb. 19 - Banro Corporation ("Banro" or the "Company") (AMEX - "BAA"; TSX - "BAA") announces that on February 18, 2007, the Company received a letter from the Honourable Martin Kabwelulu, Minister of Mines for the Democratic Republic of the Congo (the "DRC"). The letter refers to certain surface tax issues and the liquidation of Sominki SARL. There are no issues with Banro's titles.
The Company is confident that the matters referred to in the correspondence will be clarified with the Ministry of Mines.
