OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (AP) _ Compass Minerals International Inc. (CMP) on Monday reported fourth-quarter profit of $80.5 million.
The Overland Park, Kansas-based company said it had profit of $2.38 per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.92 per share.
The minerals producer posted revenue of $433.4 million in the period.
For the year, the company reported profit of $217.9 million, or $6.44 per share. Revenue was reported as $1.28 billion.
Compass expects full-year earnings to be $5.10 to $5.60 per share.
Compass shares have increased nearly 4 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $90.09, a climb of roughly 8 percent in the last 12 months.
