VANCOUVER, April 27 /CNW/ - Finlay Minerals Ltd. (TSXV: FYL) (the "Company") reports the completion of the winter drill program on the Silver Hope project in B.C.
The winter drill program was completed during mid-March to mid-April, 2011 and entailed the completion of 6 drill holes. Three holes were completed in the East Horizon Zone following up on a strong induced polarization geophysical anomaly and coincident soil anomaly. Three holes were drilled as in-fill into the recently discovered West Horizon Zone porphyry copper-molybdenum mineralization. Final assays results and data compilation will be released when available.
A core drilling program is being planned to commence in June at Silver Hope. All permits are in place for this exploration work. As several deep holes may be drilled to test the merging of the West and Main anomalies, a 15 kilometer deep induced polarization (IP) survey along 3 pre-existing east-west lines was completed by Peter Walcott & Associates. This deep IP work will be merged with earlier work from 2007/08 to allow geophysical assessment 500-600 meters vertically below surface.
