CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - July 19, 2011) - Manson Creek Resources Ltd. (News - Market indicators) ('Manson Creek') is pleased to announce that it has completed staking additional claims to expand the Tell Claim block, located immediately south of ATAC Resources Ltd. Rau claims, in the Yukon.
Geological personnel recently completed a geological reconnaissance, stream sampling and prospecting program on the Company's 100% owned Tell project.
Considerable attention was paid to the Tell natural spring gossan and vegetation kill zone. The gossan extends over 300 meters and is cored by a 75 meter by 240 meter zone hosting significant zinc values in soil samples ranging from 10,000 to 49,600 parts per million (ppm) zinc along with significant lead values. This zone has never been drill tested and bears similarities to the Ocelot discovery announced by ATAC Resources Ltd.
The Ocelot discovery was made by targeting an undrilled natural spring surface gossan with associated strongly anomalous zinc and lead sample results. Like the Ocelot zone, the Tell gossan is also located in and near regional carbonate units within structurally complex geology in and proximal to the Rackla gold belt.
Samples have been received by the assay facilities with interpretation and summary of the field work expected to be completed shortly.
Tell Project Background
The Tell property is now well over 2,000 hectares with the claims located approximately 140 kilometers east of Mayo, Yukon. Many of the recent gold and silver discoveries in the region have been made in areas of prominent known, but not drill tested, gossan zones that contain anomalous zinc, lead and pathfinder minerals. The Tell property contains a large gossan, that is anomalous in zinc and lead, as well as numerous arsenic and mercury anomalies that are considered pathfinders for gold mineralization.
