VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) _ Fortuna Silver Mines Inc. (FSM) on Monday reported first-quarter earnings of $2.6 million.
The Vancouver, British Columbia-based company said it had net income of 2 cents per share.
The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of 2 cents per share.
The silver and gold miner posted revenue of $42.7 million in the period.
Fortuna shares have more than doubled since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $6.02, an increase of 64 percent in the last 12 months.
