Attention Business Editors:
Canadian Arrow Initiates Phase One Drilling on the Kenbridge Deposit
SUDBURY, ON, April 11 /CNW/ - Canadian Arrow Mines, Ltd. (CRO: TSX-V)
today reported that a drill rig has been mobilized to the Kenbridge Nickel
Project to begin Phase 1 of drilling on the property which will consist of
5,000 metres designed to fill in areas within the Kenbridge Deposit resource
where there was insufficient confidence in the historical data to permit its
resource classification as Indicated. Shallow areas of the resource will be
drilled in order to establish the potential for open pit mining. Additionally,
several other targets within the near mine area have been identified for
drilling in order to increase the tonnes and grade of the current resource as
defined by SRK (Canada) Consulting Inc. (see press release dated March 22,
2007). The main objectives of the program will be: (1) to increase the
confidence level of the shallow resources above 150m depths in order to
qualify them for the indicated resource category; and (2) add to the level of
confidence in the deeper resource, below 150m, with grade data to establish
continuity between drill intersections.
Dean MacEachern, Canadian Arrow's VP Exploration, commented: "A second
drill is scheduled to arrive at the property towards the end of April to
assist with this phase of drilling. We hope to have this first phase of
drilling completed in the next couple of months and then incorporate the
results into our Kenbridge Deposit resource database. The shallow drilling
will give us the information we require to determine whether or not an open
pit is economically viable as part of the Scoping Study we currently have
underway."
Additional targets for drill testing are still being identified on the
Kenbridge Property since the final airborne survey, completed over the
Company's entire land package in northwestern Ontario, was recently received.
This survey has identified several regional targets which hold potential for
nickel sulphide mineralization. A larger drilling program will be designed for
Phase 2 to further define the resource at the Kenbridge Deposit and test
several of the new regional targets.
The exploration program is being carried out under the direction of the
Company's Exploration Manager, Todd Keast, P. Geo., a Qualified Person as
defined by National Instrument 43-101. The information in this release was
prepared under the direction of Dean MacEachern, P. Geo., Vice President
Exploration, also a Qualified Person as defined by NI 43-101.
