Yorbeau Intercepts 5.81 Grams Gold Per Tonne Over 2 M (0.17 Ounces Gold Per Ton
Over 6.56 Feet) in Astoria-Style Flow Ore Mineralization on the Cinderella Block
|
MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Jan. 17, 2008) - Yorbeau Resources Inc. (TSX:YRB.A) is pleased to provide the following update on its 2007 drilling program which was carried out on the Augmitto, Cinderella, and Lake Gamble Blocks of the Company's Rouyn Property. These results include the first exploration holes, seven in total, done on the Cinderella block to explore the eastern strike of the Augmitto deposit, as well as results from the last holes drilled in 2007 from the first phase definition drilling on the Augmitto Block, intended to validate historical gold grades.
"We have a very interesting intercept from the Cinderella block," said Dr. Thomas L. Robyn, President and CEO. "We have an intersection in hole 07-S-456 of 5.81 g/t over 2 m in Astoria-style flow ore mineralization, and the drill hole is nearly 5 km from the Astoria deposit where, back in 2005, Yorbeau announced a NI 43-101 compliant resource estimate of 350,000 ounces of gold. This intercept opens up a significant strike extent of potentially economic gold mineralization along an alteration corridor 100 meters wide and over 5 km long. An induced polarization (IP) survey will be started in February that will allow us to delineate the Astoria-style flow ore mineralization from the Cinderella block to the Astoria deposit, and on to the eastern margin of our property. This type of survey has only been done locally at the Astoria property, which yielded positive results. I anticipate some very important results from the expanded survey which will be outlined in a future press release, along with other exploration activities."
Augmitto Block:
The most interesting results from the last series of definition holes drilled in 2007 on the Augmitto block are in holes 07-S-447 and 449.
Hole 07-S-447, located on section 5425E has returned a weighted average grade of 5.30 g/t Au over 2.0 meters (1 m true thickness) along core axis at a core depth of 131 to 133 meters. Another mineralized zone was intersected at a shallower core depth that returned a grade of 12.27 g/t over 0.8 m along core axis, from 98.2 m to 99.0 m. One grain of visible gold was observed in green carbonate ore at a core depth of 93.40 m; this zone returned 2.39 g/t Au over 0.5 m along core axis. Another interesting intersection down hole returned a weighted average grade of 6.01 g/t Au over 0.9 meters (0.45 m true thickness) along core axis at a core depth of 139.65 to 140.55 meters. This mineralized intersection is characterized by the presence of a pinkish to brownish pyritiferous dike that returned 13.17 g/t Au over 0.35 m along core axis at a core depth from 140.20 to 140.55 m.
"These dikes are frequently associated with the high grade gold zones at Augmitto and are similar to the mafic "albitite" dike swarm associated with the Kerr Addison-Chesterville Archean gold-quartz vein system in Virginiatown, an observation that reinforces the similarities between our Rouyn property and Kerr Addison," said Dr. Louis R. Bernier P.Geo., VP Exploration and COO.
Hole 07-S-449, also located on section 5425E, returned numerous low grade gold intersections in the carbonatized ultramafic rocks as indicated in the following table. The most mineralized core section returned 6.1 g/t Au over 0.6 m along core axis at a core depth of 315.00 to 315.60 m.
Gold assay results from the last definition holes drilled in 2007 and not previously reported are presented in the following table:

Seven shallow exploration holes located on sections 5550E (07-S-450, 451, 456) and 5600 E (07-S-452, 453, 454, 455) were drilled during the last quarter of 2007 on the Cinderella block.
Hole 07-S-451 returned 5.14 g/t Au over 3 m along core axis (1.5 m true thickness) at a core depth from 165.0 to 168.0 m in a micro-folded carbonate-fuchsite schist (altered ultramafic rock) hosting disseminated sulfides (pyrite and arsenopyrite) adjacent to smoky quartz veinlets.
Hole 07-S-456 returned 5.21 g/t Au over 1 m (0.77 m true thickness) along core axis at a core depth of 19.0 to 20.0 m in quartz veinlets in carbonate-fuchsite schist. The most interesting intersection in this hole returned 5.81 g/t over 2 m (1.53 m true thickness) in flow-ore style mineralization characterized by the presence of semi-massive sulphide (pyrite and arsenopyrite) bands closely associated with the southern argillite (see location map and photos on web site).

(i) Length along core axis. Data shown in bold are gold grades above 4 g/t. Note that Astoria-style flow-ore mineralization was also encountered in holes 426 and 425, as reported in a previous press release (September 24, 2007), which reported 5.71 g/t Au over 0.4 m in hole 07-S-426 and 3.87 g/t Au over 1m along core axis in hole 07-S-425.
To date 31 definition holes totaling 3,960 meters holes have been drilled on the Augmitto block. In addition, seven exploration holes totalling 1,779 meters have been drilled on the Cinderella block to test the eastern extension of the Augmitto gold zones at shallow depths (maximum 250 m vertical). The data generated during this definition drilling campaign are currently being integrated into the Company's exploration 3D model and geological interpretation is underway.
Additional samples are being taken to verify and close off some of the mineralized zones in these 38 holes; assay results are pending and will be reported when available.
The qualified persons under National Instrument 43-101 are Thomas L. Robyn Ph.D., CPG, RPG, Louis R. Bernier P.Geo., Ph.D. and Claude Gagnier, P.Geo. Samples were analyzed at Laboratoire Expert at Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec. Mineralized core samples are analyzed by fire assay method and reanalyzed by fire assay + gravimetry when they returned more than 3 g/t Au whereas core samples with visible gold are systematically analyzed by metallic sieve method. Samples having more than 3 g/t Au that were not analysed using the metallic method are being re-analyzed by another laboratory.
