Brilliant Intersects Nickel Sulphide Mineralization at Michikamau Project, Labrador; 0.71% Ni and 0.45% Cu Over 11.3 Metres

("Brilliant" or the "Company") today announced the assay results from the 2007 drill program at the Michikamau Project. Brilliant Mining has a 100% interest in the Michikamau Nickel-Copper-Cobalt-Platinum Group Elements (Ni-Cu-Co-PGE) Project, which covers 100 km2 of highly prospective exploration ground in Central Labrador, Canada.

Michikamau Property
The Michikamau Property ("Property") covers 100 km2 within the Michikamau layered gabbro-anorthosite (troctolite) intrusion. This intrusion is considered to be highly favourable for hosting Ni-Cu-Co-PGE mineralization and represents a conceptual and empirical exploration target for Voisey's Bay type mineralization. Twenty-seven (27) high to medium conductors have been identified on the Property, hosted in troctolite within the interpreted throat "feeder" zone. The Property is located close to existing infrastructure, including the Churchill Falls hydroelectric facility.
Michikamau 2007 Exploration Program
Brilliant completed eleven Diamond drill holes, totaling 1,105 metres. Drill highlights from the 2007 drill program at Michikamau are summarized in Table 1. "We have discovered multiple, near surface nickel-copper-cobalt sulphide occurrences of varying thicknesses and tenor at Michikamau," stated Brilliant's CEO, John Williamson. "Exploration to date points to a large and complex mineralizing environment with clear indications for nickel enrichment in the system."

Best results were received near surface from the Juno target, with hole MK07-08 intersecting 21.7m grading 0.51% Ni and 0.36% Cu, including 11.3m grading 0.71% Ni and 0.45% Cu. MK07-08 was drilled vertically to a depth of 99.4m with two significant sulphide zones and several minor zones encountered over the length of the hole.
Hole MK07-11 was designed to test the extent of the Juno anomaly and was collared 17m to the northeast of hole MK07-08 at a 5 degree azimuth with a dip of -50 degrees. Multiple zones containing semi-massive to massive sulphide were encountered near surface, reporting intersections grading 0.27% Ni and 0.13% Cu over 5.6m, and 0.32% Ni and 0.30% Cu over 10.6m.
Hole MK07-01 targeted the "Sword Far North" nickel-copper-cobalt surface showing and was drilled due west to a depth of 93.0m with a dip of -50 degrees. The projection of the surface showing to depth was encountered at 30.3m down-hole and contained 65% pyrrhotite, 5% pyrite, and 3% chalcopyrite. Within this zone of mineralization, a 50cm intersection graded 1.05% Ni, 0.119% Cu and 0.147% Co. The Sword Far North showing, discovered during the 2006 drill program, returned an average grade of 1.14% Ni and 0.194% Co with one sample grading 1.62% Cu from 5 grab samples (See press release dated Aug. 30, 2006).
In comparing the nickel to sulphur ratios of individual samples, distinct populations can be observed even amongst holes in close proximity to one another. These results indicate a complex mineralizing system and that a nickel enrichment history exists within the Michikamau Property.
The 2007 exploration program also included 150 line kilometres of ground geophysics, consisting of Horizontal Loop Electro-magnetics (HLEM) and magnetic intensity to refine the central target area at Michikamau.
2007 Ossok West Drill Program
After demobilizing from Michikamau, the drill was moved 150 kilometres to the southwest to Brilliant's Ossok West Property. One hole was designed to test a broad conductor in conjunction with previously identified anomalous surface samples. The final depth of the hole was 58.5m at an azimuth of 215 degrees with a dip of -60 degrees. The hole intersected competent gneiss with minor garnet. The conductor was not explained by the drill core and no sulphide mineralization was observed.
The projects are supervised by Rob Carpenter, Ph.D., P.Geo., Director of Brilliant. Dr. Carpenter is the qualified person as defined in National Instrument 43-101.
