Attention Business Editors:
Key processing equipment secured for Kenbridge Nickel Project
SUDBURY, ON, Feb. 13 /CNW/ - Canadian Arrow Mines, Ltd. (CRO: TSX-V) (the
"Company), reports that it has purchased a semi-autogenous grinding mill (SAG
mill) for the Kenbridge Nickel Project in Northwestern Ontario. The 22' x 8',
1500 kW Fuller Traylor SAG mill was sourced used from a large copper mine in
northern Chile with the help of Sudbury based equipment dealer Mine Source
Inc. The mill was installed new in 1989 as part of a pilot plant, ran for a
total of 7 years under light operating conditions and is in excellent
condition. Shipment from Chile will commence immediately with the mill and
spare equipment delivered to the port in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Minor
refurbishing work will take place in Thunder Bay followed by delivery to the
Kenbridge site.
Canadian Arrow's Vice President of Operations, Garett Macdonald,
comments, "This important piece of processing equipment represented the
longest lead item for the Kenbridge Nickel Project, with an expected delivery
time of over 30 months. Over the last year alone we've seen pricing for this
equipment escalate by 30% with no sign of slowing down due to unprecedented
worldwide demand. A 2,800 tonne per day concentrator is planned for Kenbridge
and this mill has the capacity to handle that and more, providing an
opportunity to increase throughput in the future. By purchasing this equipment
now, we have taken a large step to reduce the capital costs and keep the
project on schedule."
Canadian Arrow continues to advance the Kenbridge Nickel Project with a
Preliminary Economic Assessment and updated resource estimate delivered in
January 2008. Diamond drilling continues at Kenbridge on the underground
resources and regional exploration targets. 2008 will see the environmental
baseline studies completed, an advanced exploration program initiated and a
bankable feasibility study undertaken. As well, excellent progress has been
made in forming a relationship with the Anishinaabe Nation in Treaty No. 3.
