Evansville, Ind.
-- With post-holiday winter heating bills about to face Indiana
residents, Vectren Energy Delivery (Vectren) launched today a new Home Energy Efficiency
Makeover Contest to encourage more Indiana
customers to participate in online energy audits in an effort to pinpoint
opportunities to reduce energy consumption and lower bills.
In early March, one Vectren customer will win the Home Energy Efficiency
Makeover Contest and receive up to $8,000 in free home improvements and
upgrades to reduce the customer's energy consumption. The winner's home
will receive a complete on-site audit the results of which will determine
the needs for the makeover. Among the benefits the winner can receive are
high-efficiency appliances and weatherization services such as a natural
gas furnace, natural gas water heater, programmable thermostat, ENERGY
STAR. clothes washer, natural gas clothes dryer,
compact fluorescent light bulbs, new caulk and/or weather stripping and
added insulation.
Vectren natural gas customers can
easily participate in the contest by completing an online Energy Audit at
vectren.com now through March 1, 2008. Through an online audit, all
customers gain the benefits of determining home energy use, how to reduce
gas energy consumption and, more importantly, how to save money with energy
conservation.
To boost customer
awareness and participation, Vectren will visit
community events throughout its Indiana
service area in the month of February with a wrapped Conservation
Connection vehicle to promote the contest and distribute information. Specific
event locations will be announced soon.
"We view this
contest as a way to engage more of our customers in evaluating their home
energy use and discovering ways to save through a user-friendly tool like Vectren's online audit," said Doug Karl, Vectren's vice president of marketing and customer
service.
Eligible contest
participants must be Indiana
residential natural gas customers of Vectren
Energy Delivery of Indiana and use natural gas as their primary home
heating source. Also, participants/homeowners must be at least 18 years old
and have an active Vectren Energy Delivery
account in good financial standing. The primary account holder must reside
at the service address on the account to be eligible to win.
More information about Vectren's Home Energy Efficiency Makeover Contest and
the Energy Audit tool is available at vectren.com or by calling
866.240.8476. Those households without online access can complete an energy
audit over the phone by calling Vectren's
