Lightbridge Chairman Discusses Nonproliferation Trends at United Nations and American Physical Society

Ambassador Thomas Graham, Jr., Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors at Lightbridge Corporation, will discuss the relationship between the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty and the Treaty on the Non-proliferation of Nuclear Weapons at a dinner meeting of the American Physical Society at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, November 2, at the George Washington University Elliott School of International Affairs, Washington, D.C.

Ambassador Graham's remarks are part of a two-day technical workshop "Short Course on Nuclear Weapon Issues in the 21st Century." Other topics include modernizing the U.S. nuclear arsenal, and the nuclear programs of North Korea, India and Pakistan.

A world-renowned authority on nuclear nonproliferation, Ambassador Graham was involved in the negotiation of every major arms control and nonproliferation agreement from 1970 to 1997, including START, SALT, the CTBT, the INF Treaty, and the ABM Treaty, among many others. He participated in nuclear talks with more than 100 countries. For 15 years, Graham was general counsel for the Arms Control and Disarmament Agency, where he also served as acting director for one year. He has advised five U.S. presidents on issues related to nuclear nonproliferation.

On Monday, October 28, Ambassador Graham spoke at a luncheon meeting of the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs as respondent to remarks by Angela Kane, U.N. High Representative for Disarmament Affairs. The event was attended by approximately 75 corporate chief executives and U.N. diplomats.
