Unico, Inc. Announces New Photo Gallery of Work on Electrical Substation That
Will Supply Power to the Deer Trail Mine
Issued Thursday May 10, 9:31 am ET
SAN DIEGO, CA--(MARKET WIRE)--May. 10, 2007--Unico, Incorporated (OTC BB:
UCOI), a natural resource company in the precious metals mining sector, has
added a new photo gallery to its website, www.unicomining.com, which shows work
on the electrical substation that will supply power to the mill and processing
facility at the Deer Trail Mine in Marysvale, Utah. The new photo gallery has
been posted in the Media section of the website at
http://www.unicomining.com./news/othermedia.php.
Unico's wholly owned subsidiary, Deer Trail Mining Company, is working
in cooperation with Cache Valley Electric (http://www.cve.com/), one of the
largest electrical contractors in the western United States, to prepare the
site and build the substation. Once that work is completed, electricity
producer PacifiCorp (www.pacificorp.com), which operates in the state of Utah
as Rocky Mountain Power, will supply the connection to the substation. The
design and completion of the new substation itself is expected to provide
substantial cost savings as a result of lower energy costs and greater
reliability.
The focus of the new photo gallery is work previously completed at the
substation site, including additional preparation of the ground upon which the
substation is being built, the installation of the grounding circuit, 4-inch
conduit and smaller conduits, and preparations for pouring the concrete pad
where the main transformer for the substation will be mounted.
The first photograph in the gallery, taken from the upper level of the new mill
building at the Deer Trail Mine, shows where the new substation is located
relative to the existing Rocky Mountain substation.
In addition to the ongoing work at the substation site, Cache Valley Electric
is assisting with the installation of the subsidiary substation used to reduce
the voltage from 12,470 volts to the 480 volts needed to operate the milling
facility and the installation of electrical conduits, controls and wiring
inside the mill buildings.
"With work on the new electrical substation continuing with the assistance
of Cache Valley Electric, we expect to report additional progress at the
substation site in the coming days," commented Mark A. Lopez, chief
executive officer of Unico, Inc. "We hope that shareholders are pleased
with the photographs in this new gallery and will follow the upcoming progress
reports, both on the electrical substation and related to the reconstruction of
the mill and processing facility at the Deer Trail Mine."
Shareholders who would like to sign up to receive information by email directly
