ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico - August 29, 2012 - Santa Fe Gold Corporation (OTCBB: SFEG) is pleased to report it has raised $2.3 million in recent offerings under its S-3 shelf registration statement. The majority was raised under its offerings to existing stockholders. These funds together with revenue from gold and silver sales help to bolster Santa Fe's working capital reserves.
The company reported that ramp up of its Summit silver-gold mine is proceeding satisfactorily and that operating efficiency at the mine continues to increase. The mine is consistently producing 10,000 tons of ore per month. Sales during July and August totaled approximately $3.0 million. Sales are expected to grow over the next several quarters as higher grade ores are encountered in the mine. The company is working on a plan to accelerate the production of higher grade ore and to increase tonnage production levels of up to 20 percent.
"We continue to make excellent progress at the Summit mine and Lordsburg mill", said Pierce Carson, CEO. "At the mine, we have managed to implement a number of cost reductions. We expect to continue to set records for mining and processing throughput as well as records for shipments of our high value concentrates and silica flux products."
At the Ortiz gold project, Santa Fe is proceeding with a Canadian-standard NI 43-101 report that will bring current historical resources estimated as approximately two million ounces of gold.. Environmental and other work also is underway. Additional updates can be anticipated over the coming weeks as material progress is made on the project.
