Diamondex to Commence 2007 Program on Brodeur Project
======================================================================
Vancouver, B.C. - Diamondex Resources Ltd. (DSP-TSX.V) ("Diamondex") is
pleased to announce that the 2007 exploration program on its Brodeur
project, located on Baffin Island in Nunavut will commence during the
first week of June. (See www.diamondex.net for project location and
description).
Brodeur Project, Nunavut
Diamondex will undertake a 3-month exploration program on the Brodeur
Project area, which will include its first
Diamond drill-testing
program since the project was optioned from Kennecott Canada
Exploration Inc. (KCEI) in 2005. During the past two field seasons
Diamondex has collected 1,024 till and stream sediment samples,
conducted 24,025 line-kilometres of detailed airborne
magnetic/electromagnetic surveys as well as detailed ground magnetic
and gravity surveys over discrete airborne anomalies and known
kimberlite occurrences. In 2006, prospecting within a 40 km2 area
surrounding the three previously discovered kimberlite bodies (Kuuriaq,
Nanuk and Tuwawi) led to the discovery of numerous kimberlite outcrops,
subcrops and boulders. The 2007 exploration program budget is set at
$2.8 million. Between 2001 and 2005, KCEI expended approximately $8
million on the Brodeur Project, including airborne magnetic surveys,
stream and till sampling and preliminary
Diamond drilling. At the end
of the fiscal year, Diamondex will have spent in excess of $6 million
on the project and earned a 100% interest from KCEI.
2006 Exploration Program Results Summary
A review of the kimberlite indicator mineral (KIM) picking results
indicates that at least 15 priority magnetic targets are associated
with anomalous concentrations of pyrope garnets, olivine and minor
chromite, located either directly downstream or down slope. Since it
appears that the last glaciation of regions within the bounds of the
project area had little or no effect on the distribution of KIMs in the
overburden, it is postulated that the majority of the anomalous KIM
concentrations are directly associated with shallow buried kimberlites.
An additional nine priority areas have been defined by anomalous
concentrations of KIMs that are not directly associated with magnetic
anomalies.
Microdiamond results from the caustic fusion of samples collected by
Diamondex in 2006 indicate that all the analyzed kimberlite proved to
be diamondiferous. Tables 1 and 2 list the sieve data for 259 diamonds
recovered from 174.85 kilograms of kimberlite float and outcrop
collected from the Kuuriaq kimberlite corridor and the Nanuk kimberlite
area respectively.

greatest dimension
Microdiamond samples were securely contained and shipped to Kennecott
Canada Exploration Inc. Processing Laboratory in Thunder Bay, Ontario,
for caustic fusion processing and microdiamond recovery. The Mineral
Processing Laboratory is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 for specific
registered tests. The samples were processed according to registered
methods and standard operating procedures.
It is important to note that the size of the submitted samples were
relatively small and as such, are subject to statistical variability.
It is reasonable however, to expect that larger samples will help
better determine the nature of the contained
Diamond content, including
size distribution. For example in 2003, KCEI determined that a combined
1,520.83 kg sample of Tuwawi kimberlite core and float resulted in the
recovery of 319 diamonds larger than the 0.150 mm sieve. Twenty-one of
these diamonds remained on the 0.5 mm sieve and a total of 9 stones
remained on the 1.0 mm sieve. In addition, 78 diamonds measured greater
than 0.5 mm in one dimension.
2007 Exploration Program
The exploration program on the Brodeur project will commence on or
about June 5th. Diamondex will undertake detailed ground magnetic
surveys over priority targets to bring previously identified airborne
magnetic anomalies to the drill-ready stage. Approximately 300
line-kilometres of surveying will be completed over the project area.
Many of these anomalies have proved to host anomalous concentrations of
kimberlite indicator minerals (KIMs) and in some cases, localized
occurrences of kimberlite subcrop and boulders. The majority of this
first phase of the 2007 exploration program will be completed by the
end of June in advance of a drill program which is due to commence in
early July.
Dorado Drilling Ltd. of Whitehorse, Yukon has been contracted to
complete up to 3,500 metres of
Diamond drilling between July 1 and
August 31. The initial drill targets will be focused on the Tuwawi pipe
(KCEI modeled grade of 0.4 carats/tonne), which has a surface
expression of approximately four hectares. In addition to the
delineation drilling component of this program to outline Tuwawi's
geometry, a larger sample of kimberlite will be collected in an effort
to determine potential
Diamond grades and quality. In addition, at
least one test will be dedicated for the "Tuwawi Deep" geophysical
target. Magnetic modeling of this feature indicates that the Tuwawi
kimberlite could widen significantly with depth. The balance of the
drilling will focus on discovering new kimberlite intrusions in the
vicinity of the Nanuk occurrence, along and within the eight kilometre
long Kuuriaq -- Katigia structural corridor, as well as high priority,
discrete targets identified over the Brodeur property.
A total of 500 follow-up till and stream sediment samples will be
collected within the Brodeur project area. In addition, kimberlite
prospecting will be conducted along magnetic trends within a 40km2 area
surrounding the three previously known kimberlite bodies as well as
priority outlying areas. A separate sampling program will also be
undertaken in order to locate the source of numerous and widespread
ilmenite (kimberlitic) and pyrope anomalies that have been identified
over the last two exploration seasons. As none of the kimberlite bodies
discovered to date at Brodeur contain ilmenite, Diamondex believes
there may be a yet unidentified group of intrusions to be discovered on
the property.
The 2007 exploration program for the Brodeur property is budgeted at
$2.8 million. Since Diamondex optioned the Brodeur Property from
Kennecott, it has expended approximately $3.2 million on the project.
The Brodeur Project is centred on the northern half of the Brodeur
Peninsula of Baffin Island. Diamondex has the exclusive option to earn
a 100% interest in the property, subject to an underlying Property
Acquisition Agreement with Kennecott Canada Exploration Inc. The
property comprises 179,951 acres, covering 70 optioned claims and hosts
three known
Diamond-bearing kimberlite bodies: Tuwawi, Nanuk, and
Kuuriaq.
