Company Announcements Office
XOLOBENI MINERAL SANDS PROJECT MINING RIGHT APPLICATION LODGED
Mineral Commodities Limited ("MRC") is pleased to advise that it's South African Subsidiary, Transworld Energy and Mineral Resources (SA) (Pty) Ltd ("TEM") has lodged a mining right application for the Xolobeni Mineral Sands Project.
The Xolobeni mineral sands deposit is located in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa approximately
300 kilometres north of East London and 200 kilometres south of Durban.
The Company holds the prospecting rights to four of the five blocks in the Xolobeni Mineral Sands Project. The mining right application has been lodged notwithstanding the previously advised objections received to the prospecting right application to the remaining block, the Kwanyana block.
While the level of consultation undertaken in respect to the objection to date has been extensive, the Company has undertaken initial work as a display of good faith and its commitment to develop and operate Xolobeni transparently and sustainably in the interests of all stakeholders. All the necessary documents were completed and submitted to the DMR during the last quarter of 2014 and, given this and the substantial amount of support for the project evident through the consultation, the Company remains optimistic of the award a new prospecting right over the Kwanyana block in the current year.
The deposit is regarded as one of the largest undeveloped mineral sands resources in the world containing approximately 9.3Mt of Ilmenite:

The company will now move to commence all Public Participation with interested and effected parties as a pre cursor to the submission of a scoping study and full Environmental Impact Assessment of the Project.
As demonstrated with the successful development of the existing operating Tormin Mineral Sands Project which has recently completed its first full year of production, the Board of MRC remain committed in their pursuit to bring the much larger Xolobeni Mineral Sands Project into operation giving the company a significant South African presence in the Global Mineral Sands Industry.
