Drilling in the first two vein zones continues to
encounter high-grade gold.
Westhaven
Ventures Inc. (WHN:TSX.V) announced in a news release that during its ongoing drill campaign at
its Shovelnose project in British Columbia, it discovered a Third Vein zone
containing high-grade gold and silver.
"With each new high-grade vein zone discovered, it increases the
potential for substantial gold-silver resources to be defined at
Shovelnose," President and CEO Gareth Thomas said in the release.
"We continue to build on our understanding of these zones, the geologic
model and the property in general."
The Third Vein zone is located below and northeast of the Second Vein
zone, about 20–60 meters (20–60m) downsection. Highlight assays from the
Third Vein zone include 7.11m of 9.42 grams per ton gold (9.42 g/t Au) and
69.36 g/t silver (Ag), including 1.2 of 36.8 g/t Au and 259 g/t Ag. "The
presence of high-grade mineralization below 1100m elevation in the deeper
Third Vein zone broadens the vertical range of such mineralization at South
zone," Peter Fischl, exploration manager, said in the release.
Drilling in the First and Second Vein zones continued to hit high-grade
gold.
From the First Vein zone, recent results were 9.5m of 4.21 g/t Au and
14.56 g/t Ag in hole SN19-15 and 9m of 1.33 g/t Au and 17.99 g/t Ag,
including 5m of 4.37 g/t Au and 102.64 g/t Ag, in hole SN19-13.
The Second Vein zone returned 12.45m of 5.84 g/t Au and 2.11 g/t Ag in
hole SN19-15 and 117m of 1.23 g/t Au and 3.58 g/t Ag, including 6m of 4.65
g/t Au and 4.03 g/t Ag, in hole SN19-12.
