Egypt's annual inflation rate surged 9.1% in November, from 7.1% in
October because of rising food prices, the country's statistics agency said.
Food and beverage cost, which accounts
for the biggest slice of the consumer price index, rose 11.6% year on year in
November, compared with 8.7% a month earlier, according to data posted on the
website of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics
Saturday.
