All holes drilled this season at the company's
Golden Triangle project intersected polymetallic mineralization.
Aben
Resources Ltd. (ABN:TSX.V; ABNAF:OTCQB) reported in a news release drill results from its Forrest Kerr project
in British Columbia's Golden Triangle and from its Justin project in the
Yukon.
Regarding Forrest Kerr, Aben, so far this year, drilled 10 holes there,
covering more than 5,000 meters (5,000m). Assay results are in from three of
them, which were spaced widely and drilled around the main mineralization
area in the North Boundary zone to test for extensions and continuity.
All three holes hit polymetallic mineralization "within the Hazelton
volcanic/sub-volcanic sequence," the release described.
"Mineralization corresponds to multiple and widespread fault and shear
zone structures within a panel of Jurassic Hazelton rocks that dominate the
Boundary valley."
Hole FK19-46 intersected several mineralized areas averaging 0.12 grams
per ton gold (0.12 g/t Au) over its entire length of 500.5m, including 12.4
g/t Au from 203–204m.
Hole FK19-50 returned 0.46 g/t Au over 61.7m (188–249.7m), including 11.65
g/t over 1m. The zone remains open to the northwest.
Hole FK19-51 hit multiple but intermittent gold-copper-lead-zinc
intercepts, but gold was generally low grade.
Based on the results so far, Aben expanded the budget for this year's
Forrest Kerr drill program and plans to drill into September.
"We are off to a great start for the 2019 drill season,"
President and CEO Jim Pettit said in the release. "We have some exciting
theories to test from the analysis of the last few years' drill results as
well as our new geophysical survey results."
Aben will continue moving southward from the mineralized core of the North
Boundary zone with the drill bit, testing for potential connection to the
historic, high-grade gold discovery Noranda made in 1991. "The
mineralization in this type of setting is definitely something we want to
chase," Pettit added.
As for Justin, Aben's 2019 drill program there, which the company
completed before starting at Forrest Kerr, included four diamond drill holes
over 963m testing the POW zone and 20 rotary air blast holes over 592m
testing the Lost Ace zone.
At the POW zone, holes JN19020 and JN19021 encountered "zones of
massive sulphide, sulphide-mineralized skarn and mineralized quartz
veins," the release noted. JN19021 returned 1.5 g/t Au over 15.4m
(165–180.4m), including 10.5 g/t Au over 1.2m. JN19021 demonstrated 0.9 g/t
Au over 3.3m (250.5–253.8m), including 3.5 g/t Au over 0.8m.
JN19039 showed 0.2 g/t Au over 9.5m (35.5–45m) at the mineralized
intersection of the Justin Fault.
JN19031 did not return significant results.
Rotary air blast drilling at the Lost Ace zone intersected the
"mineralized phyllite/quartz-pebble conglomerate contact"
identified in 2017 and 2018, according to the release. "Results will
allow for an updated interpretation of the contact geometry and
mineralization potential at depth."
