Most of the precious metals that exist on Earth today may have been brought here by comets and asteroids four billions of years ago. At that time, the entire inner solar system passed through a violent phase called the Late Heavy Bombardment.

During those times, vast numbers of comets, asteroids, meteorites and other space bodies battered the four rocky inner planets, causing massive amounts of damage. Most of the largest craters on Earth, Mercury, Mars, Venus and the Moon were produced during these times.

Earth's crust and mantle should not contain metals like gold, because while the planet was molten they would have sunk into the core. As a result, many geologists think they were supplied by one final meteor bombardment after the planet solidified.

A sticking point remains, though: if the storm gave Earth its precious metals, then sedimentary rocks laid down at the time should contain plenty of those metals, but they don't. There is little doubt of the bombardment but it may have brought in other substances. Some say that vast amounts of water were brought here via cometary ices, and that it was through this event that our planet's atmosphere and oceans formed.

Details of the study he and his team conducted appear in the September 8 issue of the top scientific journal Nature, Space reports.

Though gold is heavy i.e. metallic gold is. Precious metal salts are not. I have produced gold, PGM`s from salts contained here in the earth. When assayed the ores contained no great amts. of the metals, but through a chemical process have produced huge amts. of metals not a few grams per ton but many ozs. per lb. that simple assay`s can`t find because the lead contained in the fluxes only go after free metal and not after salts. Also PGM`s if present if not inquarted with silver are lost as the PGM`s on the lead burn off the outside of the lead as oxides, or into the slags.

The level of utter nonsense you spewed is overwhelming.
1. Only auric chloride has a somewhat low SG of 3.9. The average crustal rock comes in about SG=2.65
The rest of the auric compounds run from about SG=7 and higher. Consult the "CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics" for confirmation.
2. I'm calling BS on your supposed assay results. The secret special assay scams have been around since the days of the search for the Philosopher's Stone. So far, NONE have been proven to be true.
3. You burned off PGMs (oxidized and vaporized) in a fire assay? Platinum boils at 4300C and Palladium at 2200C yet gold melts at 1063C and silver at 960.8C. Silver vaporizes at 1950C. Therefor it is impossible to vaporize/burn off PGMs before you vaporize silver in your supposed inquarting.
4. Auric chloride decomposes at 254C. And sublimates at 265C.

Did you honestly think you could toss out a few technical words and someone would believe you? I could be mistaken on this. I'm reminded of "if you like your doctor you can keep your doctor" and it was believed.
