Ivory Coast, who produces about 7 tons of Gold a year, expects to double its production to 13 tonnes a year by 2013, and 20 tonnes by 2020, mentioned Energy and mines minister Adama Toungara told a news conference on Thursday.

The minister estimates that the current low production levels came from inefficient bureaucratic procedures, which should be streamlined. The minister also mentioned improving electricity generation.
