Gold researcher and GATA consultant Koos Jansen muses tonight about U.S. State Department minutes from 1971 showing Secretary of State Henry Kissinger negotiating the devaluation of the dollar with French President Georges Pompidou, with much of the conversation involving the revaluation of gold. Some market analysts believe that Western governments no longer have confidential discussions about rigging the currency markets, dismissing suspicions of that kind of thing as "conspiracy theory." But many State Department records, including those cited tonight by Jansen, show that it is all conspiracy fact.
