Merkel Gets a Warm Welcome in Greece

German Chancellor Angela Merkel was greeted by about 40,000 protesters when she arrived in Athens for a meeting with Greek government officials to discuss the latest round of budget cuts and other steps being taken to assure that the next round of bailout money – some $40 billion – arrives on schedule.






Aside from the swastikas, the Nazi-style uniform, the rock and bottle throwing, the arrest of 24 people, and the detention of a couple hundred, it sounds like things went pretty well, though, I don’t know what the protester in the video at about the 40 second mark meant when he said, “We’re not stupid, we’re Greeks”.
