Robert Wenzel, editor of Economic Policy Journal, today notes the phoniness and irrelevance of the audit supposedly undertaken recently of gold at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, reported today by the Los Angeles Times:

"This audit was designed to confuse," Wenzel writes. "Expect more stories about how the Treasury Department conducted an audit of U.S. gold. Not true. Gold at Fort Knox, where America's gold supposedly sits, is off-limits to all and has never been audited."

Wenzel's commentary is headlined "Get Ready for Some Major Disinformation about America's Gold" and it's posted at Economic Policy Journal here:

There has been no gold at Fort Knox since 1939. The proof is the refusal by the Federal lReserve to "audit the American Peoples Gold ". He who takes what isn't his'en must put it back or go to prison. The Federal reserve? also owes the Republic of the U.S.A. $trillions in interest on the treasury bonds issued since 1913. See Rep. Louis McFadden's claims before Congress in the early 1920's and 30's. The federal reserve bankers and their European owners owe the U.S. People at least ten times their negative worth, which is now about $one quadrillion in derivative exposure, +++++++++????? They can prove their innocense by producing all of the gold within 30 days. That time enough to get to Kentucky and back to D.C.??? Look it up!!! Facts are very factual, and fractual... Publius
