Yah, yah, yah. Blame everyone but the real culprits.

There are producers and there are consumers. Everyone else is a gambler or in polite-speak a trader or speculator.

None of this nonsense could happen repeatedly without the laws passed by Congress and signed by POTUS. Congress doesn't make regulations as that is the exclusive realm of the Executive Branch. So the regulators have laws passed by Congress and regulations made themselves who either have worked for the TBTF or soon hope to.

There is a simple solution. A clever bill author might be able to do it with one sentence that doesn't run on for three pages.
All future's contracts must be held by sellers and buyers for a minimum of 30 days. Failure to hold said contract for 30 days will result in a fine of three times the full cost of the contract. No exceptions.

The big question is why are the profits not taxed at the same rate as other gambling proceeds? And really, why does the public have to subsidize gambling losses via tax deductions? Oh, must be that bowl or three of dumb-ass I must have had for breakfast because the answer is clearly spelled out in the third paragraph above.

Nuf said.
