I would suggest anyone who wishes to study in the earth sciences would most certainly receive top notch education in Perth,
at the University of Western Australia, or at the prestigious University of Melbourne.

I completed a BSc and BSc(Hons) geology a few decades ago at UCT (Cape Town)and WITS (Johannesburg),
when we were fortunate to still have flourishing engineering and mining industries in South Africa.

During the country wide civil unrest in the 1980s, pre-Mandela time, most of my colleagues and almost every one of our
exceptional professors packed their bags and left for the universities in the USA and Australia.
