>Australia Coming Apart at the Seams  - Mish - Global Economic Analysis
I read this through rather quickly and I must say that i am not in disagreement with what is written.
However..PM Abbott is a complete and utter dinosaur who could not sell water in a desert.
That is, the party policies are fine but he is such a poor media performer that nobody listens to him. The same goes for Treasurer Hockey.
They simply have not been able to explain and sell why cutting wasteful expenditure and paying down debt is essential, or even preferable!
The same story applies in the State of Queensland. The Liberals lost and it could be said that there was some payback for poor performance at the federal level.
Aust. has problems but most of it is due to over government.
There are about 25 million people with a Fed gov't,..10 state gov'ts and territories plus myriads of Councils. e.g. there are 6 Councils near me which cover about 15 miles x 4 miles !!
All of that needs to change. No need for States, merge many Councils. Get rid of the Reserve Bank. Cut taxes.
However…aside from New Zealand there is no other country that I would rather live and i can tell you I have been to quite a few.

There are plenty of jobs, if you want to work
There is plenty of opportunity if you want to take it.

We have lots of migrants and the birthrate is high and they have to be housed and we are a huge country with hardly anyone in it.
In 2008 the $AUD was $0.60….so what? Compared to What?

On top of all that who needs money. The weather is so good in most parts that I could live in the bush, near the coast and feed and shelter myself totally off the natural environs.
PS Keen said house prices would crash about 10 yrs ago and how wrong was he.??

In December of 2013 I wrote Australia's Alleged Conservatives Surrender to Unions; Currency Madness Everywhere. Shockingly, Australian conservatives may no... Read More
