Chris, you can ADD two difficulties our local and federal governments are forcing on us. Locally: Building smaller, more energy efficient homes is FORBIDDEN by local zoning laws. Federally: everyone around here ~ with ANY investment money ~ is buying up bulldozers, cement trucks, front-end loaders, back-hoes and jack-hammers. ALL these items are energy inefficient and use HUGE amounts of fossil fuels. I was suspicious until one asked me: "what's the conversion rate from Mexican Pesos to Dollars ??" Sounds like he's expecting to be paid in Mexican money.
