>How Much Freedom Do We Have If We Can’t Even Drink Unpasteurized Milk?  - Ron Paul -
While I agree wit Dr. Paul on many issues, I have difficulty with his views on this. Can anyone say with certainty that distribution of unpasteurized milk in the past was never really a problem? Has there never been a health risk associated with the live bacteria in unpasteurized milk that can cause serious illness in humans, or have these regulations been imposed just for fun? There should never have been a raid -- the government doesn't have to and should never use thug tactics to get compliance -- a simple notification would be sufficient This one farmer would probably not knowingly sell unhealthy milk, but Paul's legislation could open the door to far less scrupulous grade 'B' dairy operators who would. The question is -- would you feel safer or better without that regulation? If every business person was honorable and ethical there would be no need for any regulations.
