This article went a long way to relieving my anxiety about GLD, until I re-read the GLD prospective. There I found that HSBC is the custodian for the GLD gold. We know, from the recent CFTC meeting on gold and silver price suppression, that HSBC is one of the primary participants in that scheme. One wonders if HSBC is using GLD gold (and others) in their alleged short sales operations, with or without GLD's knowledge.
