>Punked World  - James Howard Kunstler - Kunstler
Another classic example of bait and switch journalism by Kunstler. First the bait: he begins by decrying the current economic situation in Europe --true; and correctly infers contagion into the United States economy --again true.

Then the eloquent switch: "If we don't cut this shit out, some Pentagon general is going to have to ride across the Potomac and call a time-out on the constitution." What 'shit?' If you know Kunstler you know this implies anything having to do with industry, oil usage, personal transporation, and anything 'not made by hand.'

Then he takes umbrage at the notion that the U.S. Post Office might be abolished. He crys,"...delivering the mail is one of the few actual government services that is spelled out in the US constitution in no uncertain terms in Article One, Section 8." He added that, "There is actually little beyond all those post offices that holds the fabric of small town America together anymore." Really? The Post Office holds the fabic of small town American together? Hmmm...seems like the internet has more than taken that over, and then some. And I would have that family, church, community played some role in societal cohesion. But the Post Office....? Anyway, please note for future reference, Kunstler is a staunch defender of the Consititution -- and I assume the Bill of Rights.

Then he asks, out of the blue, "...where is the Tea Party of Progressives?" I assume in reference to his eloquent "..cutting out this shit." Apparently Obama and the Democrats have been to slow in socializing America.

Their vaults are stuffed with Greek bond paper that is giving the whole neighborhood a headache from a stench like unto rotting carp... Read More
