Location of the Kootenay King Project |
The Northern Hughes Range is located east of the Rocky Mountain trench and north of Wild Horse River. It lies approximately 15 kilometres due east of Kimberley.
History of the Kootenay King Project |
Due to the size and extent of Proterozoic age growth faults here, the Northern Hughes Range has long been considered one of the more prospective areas underlain by Purcell Supergroup rocks in southeastern British Columbia.
Geology of the Kootenay King Project |
The number and variety of mineral showings in the area are considerably higher than in western exposures in the Purcell Mountains. Furthermore, the Kootenay King deposit is the only known stratiform sulphide mineralization, outside of the immediate Sullivan mine area, that has been discovered in the Purcell Supergroup.
