The project comprises the Tanoso Prospecting licence of 86km2 located in the Brong Ahafo region of Ghana, 25km south west of the regional centre of Sunyani.

|
Prior to Red Back's involvement, exploration was restricted to sporadic stream sediment sampling.

|
The project straddles the projected northern margin of the Sefwi belt. The north eastern part of the licence is underlain by Palaeozoic sediments of the Volta basin. Much of the remainder of the licence area is underlain by micaceous cape coast or basin type granites with feldspar porphyry granite
