The Tonopah copper project is located some 320 kilometres north of Las Vegas, Nevada, in the northern end of the western flank of the San Antonio Mountains, which form the eastern side of Big Smoky Valley. The silver mining town of Tonopah, Nye County , is approximately 28 kilometres south by road.

History of the Tonopah Copper project |
The mine was closed in 2001 and placed on care and maintenance. Since that time, Equatorial has carried out extensive environmental rehabilitation in relation to the site of the Tonopah operation as well as certain historical mine sites. This work has been completed to high standards and in compliance with the requirements of environmental authorities.
