The La Arena property, covering approximately 22,000 hectares, is located near the town of Huamachuco in northern Peru, South America. Geologically, it lies within a multimillion ounce gold district that includes the Alto Chicama, Tres Cruces, Shahuindo and Comarsa mines.

During 2005, the Company committed a significant portion of its exploration and development budget to the La Arena project located in the Huamachuco region in Peru. The 2005 drilling program aimed to complete a reserve estimate and assess the resources on the extensions of the known deposit.
