Astral Mining Corporation Closes Financing with MineralFields Group

Astral Mining Corporation (AST-V) ("Astral" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that further to its news release dated March 21, 2007, it has closed the non-brokered private placement to the MineralFields Group of 1,000,000 flow-through units ("FT Units") of the Company at a price of $0.50 per unit for total gross proceeds of $500,000.

Each flow-through unit consists of one flow-through common share and one-half of one non-transferable share purchase warrant. Each whole warrant entitles the holder to purchase one non-flow-through common share of the company for a term of eighteen months at a price of $0.65. If the closing price of the common shares in the capital of the Company on the TSX Venture Exchange, or any other exchange on which the common shares are then listed, is $1.00 per share or more for 30 consecutive trading days after the expiry of the hold period on the Units, then the Warrants will expire 30 days after the Company gives Subscriber notice of the new expiry date. The shares and warrants are subject to a hold period expiring August 4, 2007.

The Company has paid a finder's fee to Limited Market Dealer Inc. in cash equal to 8 per cent of the gross proceeds raised by the financing.

The funds will be used to fund exploration work on Astral's portfolio of high-potential British Columbia gold properties. In 2007 the Company will be carrying out a comprehensive diamond drilling and surface exploration program on the 11,785 ha Jumping Josephine (JJ) gold project in the West Kootenay region of southeastern British Columbia, commencing in May 2007. In late 2006 the Company announced trenching results of 31.19 g/t gold over 7m, including 133.91 g/t gold over 1m, from trenching on the JJ Main Zone (December 14, 2006 Astral News Release). The JJ Main Zone currently has a cumulative strike length of 270 metres and remains open in both directions.
