TRI ORIGIN COMMENCES DRILLING AT RED
LAKE
Tri Origin Exploration Ltd. (the Company or Tri Origin)
(TOE: TSX-V) is pleased to announce that a drilling rig contracted by the
Company has been mobilized to the Company’s Red Lake Extension Project
(RLX) at Red Lake, Ontario and a diamond drilling program has commenced. The
current program is anticipated to comprise 6 holes totalling approximately
1,000 metres, conducted in the northeast part of the property. Assay results
will be released upon completion of the program.
Summer field work is ongoing at the property and has
consisted of geochemical sampling and geological mapping. This work, in
conjunction with an extensive VTEM airborne geophysical survey conducted over
the property last year and results from the Company’s previously
conducted field campaigns has served to prioritize drill targets for the
current program.
RLX is a gold exploration project comprised of
approximately 30,000 acres located adjacent to Goldcorp Inc’s mine
property and 15 kilometres
southeast of Goldcorp’s Red
Lake mine. This
100%-owned land position makes Tri Origin one of the top 5 claimholders in the
Red Lake District. The highly prolific Red Lake District hosts several
major gold mines and has produced over 20 million ounces of gold. The Company’s
work continues to validate its hypothesis that RLX is underlain by the
important mine trend rock units that host the Red
Lake gold mine and other
past-producing mines northwest of RLX.
Dr. Robert Valliant, President of the Company said,
Tri Origin’s team continues to delineate and prioritize exciting
new targets as its evaluation of RLX progresses and considering the size of the
property, lack of previous exploration and proximity to one of Canada’s
premier gold mining districts we continue to believe that the property has the potential to host significant, and as
yet undiscovered, gold deposits.?
The Company is also pleased to announce that William Killinger, director and recently appointed Chairman of Tri
Origin’s Australian affiliate company, Tri Origin Minerals Ltd., has been
awarded the honour of Member in the General Division of the Order of Australia.
Bill’s service as an engineer in the railway sector, to professional
organisations, to the mining sector and to the community is acknowledged
through this very significant distinction.
