NEWS RELEASE
GRAVITY WEST CUTS MORE SULPHIDE ZONES AND STAKES ADDITIONAL GROUND AT DRAKE
HILL SIBLEY PROPERTY
Livio Susin, president of Gravity West Mining Corp. (TSX-V: GRW) is pleased to
announce the completion of the Phase 1 diamond drilling program on the
company?s Voltaire Lake property, 150 kilometres north of Thunder Bay, On
tario.
The last two drill holes encountered sulphide mineralization of the same ty pe
as the copper-nickel and palladium-bearing zones in drill hole VL07-03A,
reported in the January 16th, 2008 news release.
As a result of these findings, more ground has been strategically staked.
Upon completion of a ground geophysical survey now underway in this Drake H ill
zone, a Phase 2 drill program will commence in May 2008.
Phase 1 Diamond Drilling Completed:
The 10,000 ft. diamond drilling contract that commenced in September is now
complete. Thirteen holes have been drilled. The highlight of the program was
the discovery of copper, nickel and palladium mineralization at Drake Hill, in
drill hole VL07-03A. Drill holes VL07-04 and -05, also in the Dra ke Hill area,
intersected massive sulphides in a geological environment tha t appears to be
prospective for VMS-type mineralization. Analysis showed a nomalous values in
copper, nickel, zinc, platinum and palladium.
Diamond drill hole VL08-12 was drilled at -50 degrees from the same collar as
the -60 degree hole VL07-03A. It cut 89 metres of pyroxenite mineralize d with
disseminated to interstitial sulphides. This contrasts with the 13 metres of
mineralized pyroxenite in hole VL07-3A (of which a 1 metre sectio n assayed
1.22 g/T palladium). The drill hole then passed through 42 metre s of
alternating mafic volcanics and granitic intrusives, followed by a 23- metre
section of heavy to massive pyrrhotite and pyrite with minor amounts of
chalcopyrite. Bands of graphitic material indicate a probable sedimenta ry
origin for the sulphide unit.
Diamond drill hole VL08-13 was drilled at -70 degrees, also from the same c
ollar. It cut two separate sections (12 metres and 11 metres respectively) of a
magmatic breccia mineralized with disseminated to streaky to locally massive
pyrrhotite, pyrite and chalcopyrite, of similar character to the 10 ..75 metre
section in hole VL07-03A (which included 2 metres of 0.87% Cu and 0.15% Ni, and
averaged 0.34% Cu and 0.08% Ni over the whole intersection). The first
mineralized breccia zone in hole VL08-13 correlates well with t he intersection
in VL07-03A, while the second, 11 metre, interval was 60 me tres further down
the hole, beyond the end of the earlier hole.
Additional Strategic Ground Staked:
Following the Drake Hill discovery, Gravity West has staked 13 additional c
laims, comprising 205 claim units of 16 hectares each. These claims are lo
cated immediately south of the mineralized zone intersected in drill holes VL07-3A,
VL08-12 and VL08-13. This brings the Voltaire Lake property to a total area of
33,100 hectares or 81,760 acres.
Geophysical Surveys Under Way:
Horizontal loop electromagnetic surveying is in progress over the cluster o f
airborne conductors at Drake Hill. This survey, being conducted at 100 m etre
line spacing, will provide a more complete definition of the conductor s
identified in the VTEM airborne survey, which was flown in 2007 with a
250-metre line spacing. A gravity survey is also planned, which is expect ed to
help define the extent of the pyroxenite that hosts the palladium min
eralization at Drake Hill. The pyroxenite appears to correlate with a 1,00 0 by
750 metre magnetic anomaly. However, widespread disseminated magnetit e in the
overlying Nipigon diabase sill interferes with the magnetic signat ures of
basement rocks, making interpretation of magnetic data somewhat unr eliable.
Phase 2 Diamond Drilling to Commence in Spring 2008:
The company plans a second 10,000 ft. diamond drilling program, focussed ma
inly on the Drake Hill area, to commence in early- to mid-May. The break w ill
allow for completion of ground geophysical surveys and analysis of samp les now
being taken from holes VL08-12 and -13 , leading to a more efficien t use of drill
footage. The contractor?s camp remains in place, avoiding the cost of
demobilizing and remobilizing.
