1.2 billion lb./yr. of electro lytic
copper and over 1.5 million oz./yr. of silver.
During his career spanning five decades, Dr. Krason has
been instrumental i n the discovery or development of
numerous deposits, including copper, gold , silver, natural gas and various
industrial minerals, on most of the world ?s continents.
In Libya (1966-1969), he

responsible for discovery of Africa?s largest sodium- chloride and
potassium salt deposit, hosted in a large sebkha type
sediment ary environment (subsequently developed into
a billion dollar chemical plan t).
After immigrating to the United

US$200 mill ion in Uzbekistan?s Muruntau
gold mine, using Dr. Krason?s exploration model for Muruntau. The resulting mine produced 500,000 oz./yr. of gold
at production costs below US$200/oz.
Dr. Krason?s presentation on exploration and economic
significance of gas hydrates in continental margins, at the 29th International
Geological Cong ress, (Kyoto, Japan, 1992), triggered
extensive research and exploration in the Nankai
Trough off Japan?s SE coast. A consortium led by
Japan Natio nal Oil
Corporation (now JOGMEC) is now preparing to produce natural gas fr om
the Nankai Trough deposit JOGMEC estimates to contain
