PITTSBURGH (AP) _ Horsehead Holding Corp. (ZINC) on Tuesday reported a loss of $4.1 million in its fourth quarter.
The Pittsburgh-based company said it had a loss of 8 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 11 cents per share.
The zinc producer posted revenue of $106.6 million in the period, which did not meet Street forecasts. Analysts expected $112.3 million, according to Zacks.
For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $15.5 million, or 30 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $453.9 million.
Horsehead shares have decreased 16 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has fallen 22 percent in the last 12 months.
