La Quinta Joined by Michel Cormier (P.Geo) as President And
C.O.O. to Lead Congolese Exploration Program.

La Quinta Resources Corp ("La Quinta" or "LAQ") is pleased to announce
that it has appointed Michel Cormier as President and Chief Operating
Officer of the Corporation. Michel is a Francophone bilingual
geological engineer with a proven track record in gold and base metals
exploration and discovery, development and mining. Michel's most
recent employment has been as Director of Exploration for SEMAFO Inc in
West Africa where his accomplishments have included original
discoveries of high grade gold mineralization in Burkina Faso and of
Ni-Cu-Co-PGE in Guinea; plus establishment of proven gold reserves in
Guinea and Niger. In addition he has worked on construction and
opening of a gold mine in Guinea and also in Niger. Earlier in his
career, he worked for Placer Dome as Chief Geologist at Kiena and Sigma
gold mines in Val-d'Or, Quebec and also for Falconbridge where he
worked as Chief Geologist on the discovery and development of the Lac
Shortt gold mine.
Malcolm Swallow Chairman and CEO of the Company commented "I am

African exploration has agreed to join us. Michel Cormier has directly
applicable experience to our projects in Congo and in Mexico and his
skill set, coupled with his bilingual abilities will greatly aide us in
the establishment and rapid development of our programmes in Congo."
The Company would also like to take this opportunity to thank Glen
Watson who has graciously agreed to step down from the role of
President and COO and to take up a new challenge as Senior VP Corporate
Development. His efforts for the Company have been tireless during
this early stage of its growth and he will continue to provide his
energy and expertise through the next stages of its development.
Mr. Cormier will join the Company formally on June 1st 2007 and will be
granted 250,000 Options in the Company in accordance with the Company's
share Option Scheme and subject to regulatory approval. He will
immediately move to take control of exploration programs currently
commencing on the Kampene Gold Project which was recently acquired by
the Corporation (See NR 07-11, dated April 17th 2007) and will also
assist in planning the exploration programs for and completing the
acquisition of the much larger 7,010 square kilometre exploration area
in the Maniema - South Kivu Gold Belt. (See LAQ Press Releases 06-10
August 28th 2006; PR: 06-18, October 24th 2006, PR: 07-02, February 02,
2007 and PR 07-06, dated March 14th 2007)
